SACRAMENTO — At the Golden 1 Center on Thursday night, the Sacramento Kings lost to the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves 117-115 in their season opener.
DeMar DeRozan recorded a team-high 26 points, two assists, and seven rebounds in his first game with Sacramento.
Keegan Murray had a double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds, but he missed a game-winning three-pointer as the final buzzer sounded.
Domantas Sabonis pulled down eight rebounds in addition to his 24 points. A double-double with 15 points and 11 assists was also recorded by De'Aaron Fox.
Last season's runner-up Sixth Man of the Year, Malik Monk, contributed four assists and 17 points.
Julius Randle, a forward for the Wolves, scored a game-high 33 points and the Kings had no response. 32 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists were recorded by Anthony Edwards.
